Foot Pain

This morning I woke up and was supposed to take a MAF run test on the treadmill, however - my right foot was hurting - hurting so bad I could barely walk.

Though my legs were sore yesterday from Friday’s run, my feet had felt fine. Why is my foot hurting so badly now? I decided to skip the MAF run test and spend an hour on the stationary bike instead.

I spent most of the remainder of the da

I’ve been drinking Gatorade® before and after my workouts lately, however, I wanted to add a little protein to the mix. The only product I saw that was really made for endurance training was Accelerade® , which is advertised as having a 4:1 carb-to-protein ration, which is supposed to be the best for endurance athletes. I also hope that this low concentration of protein will not h

Long Run Went Well, Foot Pain Gone

Minor Pain After 55 Minute Run
Written By: John Fuda

I received my new shoes last night and decided, after yesterday's successful short run, to try and return to my normal running program. I had a 55 minute run (15-minute warmup, 25 minutes at aerobic threshold and a 15-minute cooldown). The run went fine and the shoes felt great. However, about 90 minutes after completing the run, I noticed a very dull pain where I had pain two weeks ago. I'm currently icing it and seeing how things will go.

Now that I'm (maybe) back to running, I'm going to be dividing up my workouts on days when I have both a run and a ride scheduled, so I do one in the morning and the other in the evening. Tonight I have an easy 60-minute bike ride scheduled.

Quick Bike Interval Workout

I decided to break the monotony of all the slow rides I’ve been doing, especially since I can’t run for a couple of more weeks. Last night, while reading the June ’07 issue of Bicycling (yes, an old copy someone gave me) I found some short, intense workouts in an article by Chris Carmichael. One of the caught my eye, the “descending intervals” workout:
