The folks at SlySoft have a new software product called GameJackal that allows the playing of games without having to insert the original CD or DVD. This come in handy when traveling, since I won't have to lug the game discs with me anymore.
So far I've only used it with the games included in my Command and Conquer: The First Decade collection and, after a bit of trial and error, it works fine. The neat thing is all the games included in the collection read the same files when starting-up, so all I had to do was copy the first working profile I created (from C&C: Zero Hour), change the executeable portion in the profile, and create links to all the other games. Ihave CNC3 also, but have not tried it yet.
