OK, it's time to get back in shape. I'm going to use this blog as a motivational tool. I'll start posting my trials and tribulations about getting back into shape. I need to involve technology in my routine as much as possible in order to keep myself motivated, so this is a great method to do so!

Finally in Single-Digits - Only 9 Pounds to Go
Written By: John Fuda

Today's weigh-n had me at 194 pounds - only 9 pounds from my goal of 185. I weighed in with my shoes on and my iPod strapped to my arm, as usual, which probably adds 2-3 pounds to my actual body weight, but that's the way I've always done it, so that's the standard I use (when I do an actual weigh-ion, my shoes will be off). I figure it's also a good weight to put in whatever cardio machine I'm using and my HRM for calculating calorie expenditure since that's the actual weight I'm carrying around anyway.

I've noticed a lot of changes in my body composition over the last 10 weeks. My pants are so huge on me now they're almost uncomfortable from all the bunching around my belt line... probably time for some new pants. I'm starting to see definition in places I have not before as well. I think the last 9 pounds will be hard earned (or should I say hard-lost). I think I've done very well at ensuring that all the wight I lost has been from body fat and not muscles; if anything I've added muscle to my frame and not lost it (my shirts are much tighter across my chest and muuuuuuuch looser across my belly now). I've even had to losen the army strap on my iPod holder in order to keep circulation in my arms - definealty a good sign!

I’ve been drinking Gatorade® before and after my workouts lately, however, I wanted to add a little protein to the mix. The only product I saw that was really made for endurance training was Accelerade® , which is advertised as having a 4:1 carb-to-protein ration, which is supposed to be the best for endurance athletes. I also hope that this low concentration of protein will not h

It's Thanksgiving Week - More Eating and Less Exercising
Written By: John Fuda

I've been busting my butt exercising and dieting for the last two months; it's time to take a break. I think I'm gonna take off today through Saturday and just relax and pig out - you know, a typical Thanksgiving week. I've still got 10-15 pounds to go (depending on the day since my weight fluctuates by as much as 5 pounds daily - go figure) to reach my target goal of 185, which will have me 12 pounds below a BMI of 25 - plenty of buffer to be in what's considered my ideal weight range.

Review: FitDay Diet and Fitness Management Software

I’d been looking for a good diet management program. Years ago the wife and I used a program that let you record what you ate at each meal and any fitness activities you did each day. It was a commercial program we’d purchased online and it was very useful, however, we’ve since lost the download – and can’t remember what the name of the program was.

After some searching arou
